This Cookie Policy ("Policy") explains how 9Ja Odds (referred to in this Policy as "9Ja Odds", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies in connection with the website located at https://9-ja.com, its mobile application, and any associated services (collectively, the "Service"). This Policy is supplemental to, and forms part of, our Privacy Policy. By accessing or using the Service you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A "cookie" is a small text file that a website places on your computer, tablet, mobile phone, or other electronic device when you visit it. Cookies allow websites to recognise your device and store information about your preferences or past actions. The term "cookies" in this Policy also covers similar technologies, including without limitation web beacons, pixel tags, local-storage objects, session-storage objects, and similar tracking technologies (collectively, "Cookies").
2. Our use of Cookies
9Ja Odds does not currently set marketing cookies, advertising cookies, behavioural-tracking cookies, profiling cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not use Cookies to identify you personally, to build a profile of you, to track your activity across other websites, or to share information about you with advertising networks.
The only Cookie-like technology used by the Service in the ordinary course of operation is your browser's localStorage facility, which is described in Section 3 below.
3. localStorage
The Service uses the localStorage facility of your web browser to store small amounts of technical data on your device. This data is stored exclusively on your own device, is accessible only by your browser, and is never transmitted to our servers, to advertising networks, or to any third party. The specific items stored are:
9jaodds.lang— your selected interface language, so you do not have to choose it again on each visit.9jaodds.bankroll— any bankroll-management entries you voluntarily record using the Bankroll Manager calculator.9jaodds.cache.*and9jaodds.rss.*— cached responses from live-data and RSS-feed requests, retained for a short period (typically 15 to 30 minutes) to reduce bandwidth and accelerate page loads.
These items are considered "strictly necessary" because the Service cannot function as intended without them. Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019, strictly necessary technologies do not require prior consent. You may, however, disable localStorage at any time as described in Section 6 below.
4. Third-party Cookies
When you access the Service, your device may make direct requests to the third-party providers identified in our Privacy Policy, including but not limited to API-Sports, rss2json, and Google Fonts. These providers may set their own cookies under their own privacy and cookie policies. 9Ja Odds does not control these cookies and is not responsible for them. We encourage you to consult the privacy policies of each provider for more information.
5. No advertising or analytics — present and future
At the date of this Policy, the Service does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any other form of tracking or profiling technology. Should we introduce any such technology in the future, we will: (a) update this Policy to describe the cookies in detail, including their purpose, provider, retention period, and any onward sharing; (b) where required by law, display a prominent cookie-consent banner on first visit and on any material change; and (c) obtain your prior, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent before placing any non-essential cookie on your device.
6. Managing and disabling Cookies
You can control and manage Cookies in several ways. Please note that disabling Cookies or localStorage may affect the functionality of the Service.
6.1 Browser settings

6.2 Clearing 9Ja Odds data
To delete all localStorage data associated with the Service, clear your browser's site data for our domain or, if you are using the mobile application, uninstall it. This will remove your language preference, bankroll history, and any cached data.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") signal. Because no consistent industry standard for honouring DNT signals has yet been established and 9Ja Odds does not engage in any cross-site tracking, the Service does not respond differently when DNT is enabled.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may revise this Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes in our practices, in technology, in applicable law, or in the Service itself. The "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy will indicate when it was last revised. Material changes will take effect upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. You are encouraged to review this Policy periodically.
9. Governing law
This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019. Any dispute arising in connection with this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
