Privacy Policy

Effective date: 26 May 2026.
Last updated: 26 May 2026.

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how 9Ja Odds (referred to in this Policy as "9Ja Odds", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects information when you access or use the website located at https://9-ja.com, our mobile application, and any associated services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 ("NDPA") and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 ("NDPR"), as may be amended from time to time.

1. Eligibility and intended audience

The Service is intended exclusively for persons aged eighteen (18) years or older. If you are under the age of eighteen, you are not permitted to access or use the Service, and you must not submit any information to us. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received information from a person under the age of eighteen, we will delete such information immediately.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide voluntarily

9Ja Odds does not require user accounts, registration, login credentials, names, telephone numbers, postal addresses, payment details, or government-issued identifiers in order to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect, store, sell, rent, share, or otherwise process any personally identifiable information ("PII") about you in the ordinary operation of the Service.

Should you voluntarily contact us by email (for instance to file a copyright notice, request information, or raise a legal matter), we will receive whatever information you choose to include in your message, including your email address. Such information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose.

2.2 Information stored locally on your device

The Service uses the localStorage facility of your web browser to store small amounts of technical data on your device, including: (a) your selected interface language; and (b) any bankroll-management entries you choose to record using the Bankroll Manager calculator. This data is stored exclusively on your own device, is accessible only by your browser, and is never transmitted to our servers. You may clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's storage for our domain or by uninstalling the application.

2.3 Information collected automatically

When you access the Service, certain technical information is automatically transmitted by your device to our hosting provider and, where applicable, to the third-party providers described in Section 3 below. This information may include: your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages requested, date and time of access, and approximate geographic region derived from your IP address. We do not combine this technical information with any PII, and we do not use it to identify you personally.

2.4 Cookies and similar technologies

Our cookie usage is described separately in our Cookie Policy, which forms part of this Policy by reference.

3. Third-party services

The Service relies on a small number of independent third-party providers in order to function. When you use the Service, certain requests are made directly from your device to those providers, which may cause your IP address and standard request metadata to be processed by them under their own privacy policies. 9Ja Odds does not control, and is not responsible for, the data-handling practices of these providers. The current third parties are:

  • API-Sports (https://api-sports.io): retrieves live sports data, fixtures, and scores. Used only when an API key is configured.
  • rss2json (https://rss2json.com): proxies and parses publicly available RSS feeds for the Articles, Predictions, and News sections.
  • Google Fonts (https://fonts.googleapis.com): serves web fonts used in the user interface.
  • Our hosting provider: serves the static files of the Service.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of each of these providers if you wish to understand how they handle technical data.

4. Lawful basis and purpose of processing

To the extent any personal data is processed in connection with the Service, the lawful bases on which we rely under the NDPA and NDPR are: (a) your consent, which you provide by accessing and using the Service; (b) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service; and (c) compliance with legal obligations to which 9Ja Odds may be subject. We process such data exclusively for the following purposes: to operate the Service; to investigate and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity; to respond to user inquiries; to comply with legal process; and to enforce our Terms of Use.

5. Disclosure of information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances: (a) to comply with a binding court order, subpoena, regulatory request, or other legal obligation; (b) to protect the rights, property, or safety of 9Ja Odds, our users, or the public; (c) to investigate or address suspected violations of our Terms of Use; or (d) where required to defend ourselves against legal claims.

6. Data retention

Because we do not collect personal data in the ordinary operation of the Service, there is, in the ordinary course, nothing for us to retain. Email correspondence is retained for a maximum of twenty-four (24) months from the date of the last communication, after which it is permanently deleted unless retention is required by law or to defend or pursue a legal claim. Information stored on your own device under Section 2.2 is retained until you delete it.

7. Your rights

Under applicable Nigerian data protection law, you may have the right to: (a) request confirmation of whether we process personal data about you; (b) access any personal data we hold about you; (c) request correction of inaccurate data; (d) request erasure of your data, subject to our legal obligations; (e) object to or restrict processing; (f) withdraw consent at any time; and (g) lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission ("NDPC"). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within thirty (30) days. Because we do not, in the ordinary course, collect personal data, in most cases our response will confirm that we hold no such data about you.

8. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the limited information we receive against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access. These measures include the use of HTTPS encryption in transit, restricted email access, and minimisation of data collection by design. However, no system of electronic transmission or storage is one hundred per cent (100%) secure, and we cannot warrant the absolute security of any information you transmit to us. You transmit information to us at your own risk.

9. International transfers

The Service is operated from, and intended for users located in, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and other African jurisdictions. The hosting provider and third-party services described in Section 3 may be located outside Nigeria, including in jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as Nigeria. By using the Service, you consent to any such transfer of technical data to those providers, subject to the safeguards available under their respective privacy policies and applicable law.

10. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to, nor intended for use by, persons under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take immediate steps to delete such information.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes in our practices, in applicable law, or in the Service itself. The "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy will indicate when it was last revised. Material changes will take effect upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. You are encouraged to review this Policy periodically.
