DMCA / Copyright Policy

Effective date: 26 May 2026.
Last updated: 26 May 2026.

9Ja Odds (referred to in this policy as "9Ja Odds", "we", "us", or "our") respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects users of the website located at https://9-ja.com, the mobile application, and any associated services (collectively, the "Service") to do the same. This policy describes the procedure by which copyright holders, or persons authorised to act on their behalf, may notify us of allegedly infringing content displayed on or through the Service.

Although 9Ja Odds is operated from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, this policy is structured to be consistent with international best practices, including the procedural framework of the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512, as well as the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022 and other applicable Nigerian intellectual-property law.

1. Repeat-infringer policy

It is the policy of 9Ja Odds, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, to disable access to the Service for users or sources that we determine to be repeat infringers of the intellectual-property rights of others.

2. Note on the nature of the Service

The Service is primarily a calculator and reference application. The Articles, Predictions, and News sections display only short headlines and brief excerpts aggregated from publicly available RSS feeds maintained by independent third-party publishers, together with hyperlinks to the original sources. We do not reproduce or republish full articles, photographs, audio, video, or other substantial copyrighted works on the Service.

If you are the operator of an RSS feed and you would prefer that your feed not be aggregated by the Service, please contact us at [email protected] and we will remove it from our aggregation list within a reasonable period after receiving your request, regardless of whether a formal copyright notice is also filed.

3. Filing a copyright infringement notice

If you believe in good faith that any content displayed by the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice of infringement (a "Notice") to our designated copyright agent at [email protected]. To be effective and to permit us to act promptly, your Notice must include all of the following elements:

  1. a physical or electronic signature of the owner, or a person authorised to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright that is alleged to have been infringed;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (for example, the title of the article, the publication date, and the URL on the original publisher's website);
  3. identification of the specific material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity displayed on the Service, with sufficient detail (such as a direct URL within the Service, the section in which it appears, and the date on which it was observed) to permit us to locate it;
  4. your contact information, including your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. a statement by you that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  6. a statement by you, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the Notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner, or are authorised to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Notices that do not substantially comply with all of the foregoing requirements may not be effective and may delay the processing of your request.

4. False or misleading notices — warning

Please be aware that you may be subject to liability for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees) if you knowingly and materially misrepresent that material on the Service is infringing. The submission of a Notice that you know to be false or misleading is itself a violation of law in many jurisdictions and may give rise to civil and, in some cases, criminal liability. Do not submit a Notice unless you have a genuine, good-faith belief that the use complained of infringes your rights and is not authorised by you, your agent, or applicable law.

5. Counter-notice procedure

If you are a user who believes that content was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice (a "Counter-Notice") with our designated agent at [email protected]. To be effective, your Counter-Notice must include all of the following:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled;
  3. a statement by you, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal or appropriate national courts of the jurisdiction in which you reside (or, if you reside outside the United States, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria) and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original Notice, or from an agent of that person.

Upon receipt of a valid Counter-Notice we may, at our sole discretion and in accordance with applicable law, restore the removed material, subject to any further legal requirements.

6. Action on receipt of a Notice

Upon receipt of a Notice that substantially complies with the requirements set out in Section 3, we will: (a) acknowledge receipt within a reasonable period; (b) review the Notice in good faith; (c) where we determine, in our sole discretion, that the Notice is valid, take such action as we reasonably consider appropriate, which may include the removal or disabling of access to the allegedly infringing material; and (d) where appropriate, forward a copy of the Notice to the user or source responsible for the material.

9Ja Odds reserves the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to remove any material from the Service for any reason or no reason, and our exercise (or non-exercise) of this right shall not create any obligation or liability towards any person.

7. Trade marks

If you believe that any content on the Service infringes a trade mark or other intellectual-property right that is not copyright, please notify us at [email protected] with as much detail as you can reasonably provide, including: (a) a description of the trade mark or other right and supporting documentation of ownership; (b) the location of the allegedly infringing material on the Service; (c) your contact information; and (d) a good-faith statement that the use of the material is not authorised. We will review such notices in good faith and respond as appropriate.

8. Designated agent for copyright notices

Notices and Counter-Notices under this policy should be sent to:

9Ja Odds — Copyright Agent
Email: [email protected]
Subject line: "DMCA Notice" or "DMCA Counter-Notice", as applicable.

9. Governing law

This policy and any matters arising in connection with it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without prejudice to any procedural elements of this policy that are framed by reference to the DMCA for the convenience of international rights-holders. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

10. Changes

We may revise this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will indicate when it was last revised. Material changes take effect upon posting.
